Certification

B Corp

Certified B Corporations meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, a nonprofit organization, to companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance. Unlike certifications that focus on specific products, B Corp evaluates the entire company's impact.

To become a Certified B Corporation, companies must:

  • Score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment
  • Meet legal requirements to consider stakeholders in decisions
  • Pass a risk review and verification process
  • Recertify every three years

The B Impact Assessment evaluates five areas:

  • Governance: Ethics, transparency, mission alignment
  • Workers: Compensation, benefits, training, ownership
  • Community: Diversity, economic impact, civic engagement
  • Environment: Environmental management, resource use, emissions
  • Customers: Customer stewardship and social impact

For conscious consumers, B Corp certification indicates a company is committed to balancing profit with purpose across all aspects of their business.
