Cradle to Cradle Certified is a globally recognized measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy. The certification was developed based on the Cradle to Cradle design philosophy, which reimagines manufacturing to be regenerative rather than wasteful.
Products are evaluated across five quality categories:
- Material Health: Chemicals are assessed for human and environmental safety
- Product Circularity: Designed for use in circular systems
- Clean Air & Climate Protection: Manufacturing with renewable energy
- Water & Soil Stewardship: Clean water and healthy soils
- Social Fairness: Human rights and fair labor practices
Certification levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) indicate how well products perform in each category. The lowest scoring category determines the overall certification level.
