Natural latex is a milky fluid harvested from rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis) through a process called tapping. The latex is then processed into foam used in mattresses, pillows, and other products.
Unlike synthetic latex (made from petroleum-based chemicals), natural latex is a renewable resource that biodegrades at the end of its life. It's naturally hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and resistant to dust mites.
Natural latex provides excellent support and pressure relief, making it popular in high-quality mattresses. It's also highly durable, often lasting 15-20 years or more.
Look for GOLS certification to ensure the latex is genuinely organic, or at minimum, Oeko-Tex certification to ensure it's free from harmful chemicals.
